At Studley’s, our philosophy is that your wedding day should reflect you, your love and your dreams for the future. Your wedding flowers represent a “part of something as intimately interconnected and explicable only by reference to the whole.”
Our savvy designers take a holistic approach to understanding the people we serve, resulting in wedding flowers that are a distinct balance of personality, style, trends and tradition.
We’re all influenced by the world around us and part of the joy in working with couples, is helping them to interpret trends to still be on point, but to design their wedding flowers in a way that conveys their own unique style.
In our line of work, we’re sensitive to how color affects emotion and we know one of the first things couples do in planning their wedding is to select their color palette. The color choice is important, it says a lot about the spirit of the couple and sets the tone for the entire wedding day.
Each year in December, Pantone names a Color of the Year and it’s a highly anticipated event in the world of design because it influences everything from fashion runways to home furnishings and advertising. Due to the psychology of color and the global impact of their choice, the experts at the Pantone Color Institute take the annual task very seriously.
Living Coral has been named Color of the Year for 2019 because it, “embraces us with warmth and nourishment to provide comfort and buoyancy in our continually shifting environment. Symbolizing our innate need for optimism and joyful pursuits, PANTONE 16-1546 LIVING CORAL embodies our desire for playful expression.” Now that’s a wedding color we can appreciate!
Whether you tend to trend, or go your own way, you can expect to see this color play a big role in your world next year. We like that Living Coral was also chosen for the familiar and energizing aspects of color found in nature and we find it complementary to multiple styles.
We expect some of wedding flower trends we saw in 2018 to remain into 2019. Greenery is still in high demand and arching, arbors and living installations are also here to stay. We’re most excited about the playful mixes of color we are seeing in all hues.
In fact, Pantone created five different color palettes featuring Living Color and these have inspired our floral storyboards to help you envision the versatility of style and the dynamic nature of the use of this color for our 2019 wedding flower trend predictions.
