FAQ
Studley’s irrigation systems provide your lawn and plants the optimum amount of water they need to thrive. Lawn sprinklers hide safely under ground while not in use and are virtually undetectable.
- Irrigation systems help supplement the moisture level in the soil in between rain storms to keep lawns lush.
- Removes the need for hand watering plants and dragging heavy hoses around.
- Increases or preserves property value: A well maintained property increases the resale value of your property and an irrigation system makes it easier to keep your property well maintained.
Irrigation installations are easy to add to your home.

Rotor Sprinklers
Rotor sprinklers are efficient at covering large open areas. These are the best for covering most yards, fields, sports fields, golf courses and more.
Spray head sprinklers
These sprinklers are good for covering small, difficult to cover areas where there isn’t much room to apply water. Narrow walkways along the house, the strip of grass between hardscape fixtures, etc. Sprays are best suited for handling the oddly shaped or difficult areas of your property. Unfortunately sprays are not as water efficient as Rotor’s and can not be put on the same zone together. Spray heads using twice as much water per inch as a Rotor.
Multiple-projectile Rotator Sprinklers (MP’s)
MP’s are some of the newest technology in the irrigation industry, MP’s allow the flexibility of designing with spray heads as well as the functionality of being paired with Rotor’s. MP’s can be used to cover those difficult areas that can’t be reached by the larger Rotors. MP’s correct a lot of the deficiencies of spray heads when paired with large rotors and have been designed to apply the same amount of water per inch as a larger Rotor.

Our Recommendations and Tips:
Request your start up for April so that when it’s time to water in May you’re all set! (Ask us about our WiFi controllers to automate your start and end watering dates!)
Make sure your contact information is correct and up to date on your contract form.
Send your contract back in early.
Plan on budgeting $20-40 per zone on your irrigation system for additional repairs during the start up. While we do our best to ensure systems are properly protected for the winter, there are things out of our control that can cause your system to need some basic maintenance. For example, snow removal can damage sprinklers.
DIY’rs should look to have a professional inspect their system every other year. A professional can help you spot harder to recognize issues with your system and save you hundreds of dollars on your water bill!
Additionally, all parts and additional labor not included in your contract are billed separately.
Mid-Season Check
Why?
It’s always a good idea to get your system inspected in the middle of the season to make sure your lawn is getting the water it needs to survive the heat!
A mid-season check will allow our technicians to observe the results of your current watering schedule and allow us to make better decisions on how to program your system.
Little problems cause big disasters during the summer! One zone that’s not properly functioning can cause the lawn to die off very quickly in the middle of the summer. Most service calls are made after the damage has been done, and repairs sometimes can’t be started until a week or more after it was initially reported. The faster these issues are detected, the less damage to your lawn and plants.
What do we provide?
Thorough inspection of the coverage provided by the irrigation system
Check to make sure there are no leaks, broken heads, etc
Check to ensure all zones operate from controller properly
Make adjustments to the controller based on observed results
Repair of found issues
Our Recommendations and Tips
For the best results, add a mid-season check to your contract annually!
Winterization
Why?
The winter is a dangerous time for your irrigation system. Any leftover water in your system can freeze, expand, resulting in burst pipes and broken sprinklers in your irrigation system. An improperly winterized irrigation system can sometimes even cause structural damage to your home!
Without a contract guarantee, you can be left in the dark when it comes time to winterize your irrigation system. All contract customers are given priority in scheduling, so to ensure your system is properly protected for the winter it’s best to have a contract.
What do we provide?
Guarantee your irrigation system is ready for the brutal winter months by blowing out all the remaining water in your system.
Help protect your controller by winterizing it per manufacturer’s recommendations.
Peace of mind that your investment is safe.
Recommendations and Tips:
As soon as you’re ready to stop watering, turn your controller to the off position. Alternatively, for WiFi usings, set your controller to stand by mode/suspend watering.
Request your winterization early, the later you wait to shut your system down the more risk you expose your system to.
If you’ve been a Studley’s Irrigation Customer for over a year, your water shut off should be tagged and you should have a general idea of where it is located. You can turn that off to further protect your system.
If you’re able to turn the water off to the irrigation system on the inside of your house, and you have a WiFi or outdoor controller then we will be able to do your winterization even without you home. It’s best to ask the technician during your start up if this is a possibility for you.
Additionally, all parts and additional labor not included in your contract are billed separately.
